Rules of Entry

Each school may enter ONE competitor for each event. Where a school has two children who have achieved the National Qualifying Standard (NOT London Area standard) in an event, consideration will be given to both being accepted (please ring me to discuss viability – I will need some proof of performance to consider this, for example; Power of 10).The exception is intended to accommodate children who are likely to get a top eight place at the National finals. No second string athletes will be accepted in the Under 11 events.

Children are allowed to enter no more than TWO events plus a relay. No child is permitted to compete in both 800 and 1500 metres. The 300 metres and Triple Jump events are restricted to children in the oldest age group (Under 14).

The qualifying date for each age group is 1st September 2024.

Year 8 = U14 Year 7 = U13 Year 6 = U12 Year 5 = U11

As this is an age group competition children should not be promoted to a higher age group. In particular the Under 11 Age group is not intended to be for children who are younger except in exceptional circumstances.

If you are not entering an U13 Relay, then U13’s may participate in an U14 squad.

U12’s may participate in an U13 squad, 11’s may participate in an U12 squad. Otherwise, all relay squads must be of the relevant age group, and each athlete may run in one relay only.

Please note that where a school has both boys and girls competing it MUST provide two helpers. Thank you for this! If you have not named a helper already it is essential this is done.
